After Hours Check-in

After Hours Check-in

We are so excited that you are staying with us here at Purple Alpaca Farms!  While supported check-in is during the hours of 4pm to 6pm, we realize that things come up and later check-ins may be needed.  Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about checking in for your glamping experience.

Where do we go?

Please follow signs to the parking lot when you arrive.

The campground will be to the left of the parking lot, tucked away in our forest areas.  If you’ve come during the day light, you will see the grass marks heading towards the forest.  This will be where you need to go.  If you’re arriving after 9pm, head towards the campsite lights.

You will see a pond, and follow the path to the right of the pond and go over a bridge near the bathroom.  You may drive your vehicle to the pond area for easier loading and unloading.

Crossing the bridge, you will pass our bathhouse on your right.  This house has two showers and two bathroom stalls.  Instructions to turn on the heated water are posted on the showers.  Continue following the path and you will reach the glamp sites.

Tents are labeled by letter.  Please see your private messages or check your email for your specific Tent Letter.

The tents are all locked.  Your tent will have a specific lock code.  You’ll find this code in your private messages or email.

Glamping Goals

Take a deep breath and enjoy the world around you.  Use this time to reflect, lean into nature and the people around you and recharge.
Experience nature and learn something about these animals with a farm tour or while you feed them with your grain packet.
Be Human
To be human is to connect with others and to empathize with the needs of the people around you. It is to be curious and to not lose your sense of wonder.
Leave No Trace
Leave no trace by leaving our beautiful environment the same way that you found it.  Respect the land and treat our forest with respect.

The Bathhouse

Our bathhouse has two bathroom stalls and two showers.  There is heated water available and you can find instructions for this on the side of the shower doors.  Soap is provided.  Please help protect our ecosystem here by not using outside soap.  The soap provided is naturally made here in Winston Salem and formulated with natural scents to repel insects.  It’s formulated to be safe for our outdoors.

Our lights and bathroom lights are powered by solar.  The lights go on near dark but due to the limitations of sun visibility at times, we cannot guarantee that they will be on all night.  Please plan to bring a flashlight for evening trips to the bathroom.

Things to Do

We do offer additional activities such as farm tours, s’more packages, and more.  Our alpacafe is open in the am for coffee between 8-10am and farm tours are available on Saturday & Sundays at 10am as well.  If interested, be sure to stop by the shop and get some more details!

Our activity yard is another place to stop and play — hula hoops, corn hole, and connect4.  And don’t forget to stop and pick up your bag of grain!

Farm fresh eggs will be available for you to collect in a white mailbox next to the Alpacafe.  When the red flag is up, there are eggs inside!  If you take the last egg, we ask that you put the flag down to let others know that they’re all gone.

Also included in your stay is a bag of grain that you can use to feed the alpacas.  We would love your help in making sure our pregnant ladies are getting ample grain to grow those babies!  Please use your grain in the Lilac pasture on the opposite side of the main house / parking lot.  To receive your grain, please check-in at the Alpacafe in the morning.

Checkout Process & Farm Details

Be sure to read the welcome packet in your tent carefully.  We do ask that you strip the beds of linens before checkout and the packet includes additional details about your stay here.

We hope that you enjoy your stay here with us on our farm and that you’ve had time to connect and relax!  Please let us know if we can do anything and have fun!
