It’s not easy to say good bye…

It is with much sadness that I write this blog article.

Due to a series of unexpected events, we will be closing our glamping adventure here on the farm and ending with the bookings in November.  If you have been waiting to book a reservation, please plan to do so as soon as possible as we are filling up our current times and, now, will not have any past that.  If you have a gift card, we are happy to honor that for events or product in our store.  We have thoroughly enjoyed having you all come and stay with us, sharing our animals and our journey, and appreciate the support you all have shown during this time.

Purple Alpaca initially started as a family venture and journey; carving out a new life and adventure for, not only us, but for our extended family as well.  Our build up and ramp up was rooted in the knowing that our family would be relocating here and would be taking an active role in the farm development.  Unfortunately, for personal reasons, our extended family has decided that this venture is not for them and have stepped away from their involvement.  We understand their decision and wish them well on future journeys.  For us, though, this means that our dreams and needs have been forced to shift and we are unable to manage glamping on our own at this point.  With this closure, we will be looking to sell our glamping set ups — tents, beds, decks and materials.  If interested, please reach out at info@purplealpacafarms.com.  This is ideal for someone wanting to buy an individual set up for their own camping or for someone else interested in setting up their own glamping environment on their own property or elsewhere.

Moving forward, Purple Alpaca will be undergoing some direction changes — and while we may not be clear on what that will be, we do know that we will be shifting some more of that focus to our alpacas and the fiber arts.  In order to do that best, we will be working on down sizing our herd so that we can be more deliberate in our care management.  Please reach out if you would like to learn more or would be interested in purchasing alpacas for your farm.

We appreciate your patience with us during this time.  Many of these shifts came very suddenly and we are now operating at a significantly decreased work force.  There may be delays in our replies and our schedule may vary.  Thank you for your understanding during this time and we look forward to seeing you.
